6 Best Anti-Wrinkle Creams Ingredients.

If you have walked down the skin care products aisle of any drug store or discount department store lately, you know that there are hundreds (maybe thousands) of creams and lotions that are screaming promises of instant wrinkle reduction or sure-fire wrinkle prevention.

You can hardly turn on the television without having some glowing 18-year-old telling you how this product or that product can give you skin just as beautiful and wrinkle free as hers. Right!

The sad fact of the matter is that aging happens if you live long enough and with aging comes wrinkles. Some of these anti-wrinkle products may help your skin look better temporarily but the effects will not be lasting.

All over-the-counter anti-wrinkle creams contain one of more of the following ingredients:

#1. Retinol: This was the first antioxidant to be widely used in nonprescription. It is a vitamin A compound.

#2. Hydroxy acids: These are synthetic versions of fruit based acids. They are exfoliants and serve to remove dead skin and promote the bodys production of new skin.

#3. Coenzyme Q10: This is a nutrient that whose purpose is to promote energy production in cells.

#4. Copper peptides: Copper is an element that is present in every cell of the body. Copper is combined with small fragments of proteins called peptides and this combination is what is sometimes applied to the skin.

#5. Kinetin: Kinetin is a factor in the growth of plants. It is supposed to help the skin retain moisture.

#6. Tea extracts: Extracts from green tea, black tea and oolong tea contain antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

How much of any of the above listed ingredients that are contained in skin products will have a direct affect on the products effectiveness as well as on its price.

Products that contain sufficient amounts of these ingredients might provide very small improvements to the skin if used long enough and often enough.
