Cosmetic Surgical Procedures That Get Rid Of Wrinkles

Plastic Surgery for Wrinkles

Usually surgical procedures for facial rejuvenation are performed on people who are forty or older. However, sometimes plastic surgery is done on people who have inherited facial traits that such surgery can alleviate.

There are many facial rejuvenation surgeries that can be performed and each addresses a specific problem.

*The Face Lift: There are several variations. In one procedure small incisions are made along the hairline and the skin is lifted, tucked and stitched in place.

In another (often referred to as a cheek lift or a mid-face lift), the incision is made either inside the lower eye lid or in the mouth and tissue is rearranged.

The face lift or mid face lift usually requires a surgery lasing three to four hours. A general anesthetic is used and recovery can last two to three weeks.

*The Brow Lift: One of the first signs of aging is the lengthening of the forehead and the drooping of the eyebrows.

In this procedure the surgeon makes a small incision in the scalp and using a miniscule camera as a guide, he lifts and rearranges the tissue.

Brow lift surgery is usually done on an out-patient basis and the anesthesia is usually local. Recovery time is usually one to two weeks.

*Neck Lift: There are several versions of this surgery that address various problems. In the most common neck lift procedure incisions are made in back of the ears similar to a facelift, with repositioning of the tissues and removal of excess skin.

Liposuction, as well as, Botox is often used in a neck lift procedure. All of the various versions of neck lifts are performed on an out-patient basis using local anesthetic. Recovery time is usually one or two weeks.
